What is AllergyWise?

This free online e-learning course is designed for parents and carers of severely allergic children. This course aims to improve and update knowledge about the everyday management of severe allergies.

Available for anyone aged 19 or over and living in the Liverpool City Region (Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral), our courses are introductions to subject areas and are designed to give you confidence and help to stimulate your mind and push your boundaries without even leaving your home.

The FREE online courses vary in length meaning that you can choose the one that best suits your individual circumstances. You do not need any previous qualifications to undertake a course and they are suitable for people of all abilities. Your chosen course can be undertaken at any time, meaning you can fit learning around your other responsibilities.

Please note: due to funding, you can study a maximum of two courses and you must reside in the Liverpool City Region.

Skills for Employment

Completing Application Forms

This course introduces learners to the different types of application forms; the types of information requested in a job application form; the importance of reading and following instructions on a job application form; and how to check for accuracy.

 

Positive Attitudes and Behaviours

This online Positive Attitudes and Behaviours course is part of an employability suite which will help learners search for and secure employment. It is suitable for anyone who would like to learn more about how they can analyse their own skills, create an action plan and be more efficient when applying and interviewing for jobs.

Cleaning and Servicing, Level 1 Food Hygiene and First Aid

By completing this course your employees will know how to meet your organisation’s standards, be aware of the different types of equipment in hospitality, understand how to tackle unexpected situations, learn how to perform safe lifting and carrying techniques and become aware of the maintenance procedure. This training pack is a great way to introduce beginners to food safety, and first aid.

Microsoft Excel – Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced

These courses will allow you to confidently use Microsoft Excel whether you are a beginner on the software or have some knowledge. There are three levels; Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced.

This course is aimed at Parents, Guardians and Carers. The course will cover digital literacy, talking to children and you people about their digital life and footprint. Safeguarding anyone against radicalisation and extremism is an extremely important responsibility. It is crucial that anyone working with vulnerable children, young people or adults are able to recognise the signs and symptoms of potential radicalisation.

Gangs and County Lines

This course aims to give learners a deeper understanding of gang related issues and define what these key terms mean. This training will also help learners to identify the signs and symptoms of abuse and what to do if they suspect a child or young person is becoming involved in gang activities. County Lines is another crucial issue related to gang activities. Learners on this course will gain an understanding of the issue and how it can differ from other gang related activities.

How it works

Apply online and once enrolled, you will receive a login to the online assessment portal, giving you access to all the information you need to study. You will produce a portfolio of written assessments, which we will assess and feedback, all within the portal.

Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate of your nationally recognised qualification.
